This article involves development tools that require you to be inside of RPI's campus network.
If not on-campus, you must connect with the VPN.

Shell access is also enabled by default for all new accounts on the standard port, 22. To connect, point an SSH client to yousubdomain.myrpi.org and login using the same username and password you would for your control panel. You will be given access to 1 shell account, there is no way to create more for other users within your account.

Please be mindful of other users while using shell access and the resources it provides. While its acceptable to edit your files via shell, its not appropriate to execute batch processing jobs, resource intense tasks, interfere with others use of the service, or any distributed computing projects.
